I'm a mom of 3 little boys living in Westfield, New Jersey.  I spent my 20's and early 30's living in New York City working in a busy corporate job. I skipped breakfast every morning, had multiple cups of coffee to keep me going throughout the day, as well as helping myself constantly to the free candy bins in the office. I spent my evenings drinking a bottle of wine to relax from a stressful day and was all about "fat free" & "low fat" packaged foods. Sound familiar?!

For me, it required a traumatic experience to break this cycle. In 2009, I developed a terrible digestive infection that had me in-and-out of the top GI and infectious disease doctor's offices in NYC and at John's Hopkins. The only thing offered to me were more and more rounds of antibiotics. When I asked about nutrition and foods I could be eating to help my situation I was repeatedly told that it doesn't matter what you eat. 

Feeling frustrated, still in poor health and further dealing with a Hashimotos disease diagnosis (auto-immune hypothyroid), I sought the help of a functional medicine practitioner who helped me clean up my diet by doing simple things like drinking more water, eating more fruits and vegetables, and cutting back on sugar and wheat. In addition to taking probiotics and other supplements to support my immune system, I was FINALLY able to get rid of the infection and it has never come back. I saw many good doctors during this time and they gave me good, conventional advice. There is no question in my mind, though, that changing my diet/habits are what gave my body a chance to heal.


During this time, I was changing my diet, but realized I was still feeding my kids the same "convenience" food as always. From that point on, I was on a mission to start feeding my family REAL FOOD. And guess what? It's not that hard! 

There is SO much conflicting nutrition information out there.  I can help you sort through it and figure out what's right for you and your family.  There is no one size diet that fits everyone. 

As moms we need to take care of ourselves so we can take care of everyone else!
